Used fuel filters are classified as contaminated wastes. As public awareness and the efforts of environmenalists have increased, more authorized disposal sites have sprung up around the world. Still, the majority of fuel filters wind up in public land fills. At FUPRO, we believe the best way to reduce contaminated waste is to reduce the number of fuel filter changes.

 All fuel filters will stop solids of a given size until they become saturated. After saturation the fuel pressure pushes, or pulls solids through the fuel filter and into your injectors. Since there is no way to tell when saturation has been reached, engineers add a big safety factor into the fuel filter and say it's good. This is plainly not a solution.  They are playing Russian roulette with your engine.                                                                                                                                                                                          More than half of major diesel engine repairs are caused by bad fuel.                 FuPro diesel fuel filter system has a dash mounted gauge that tells you when the filter is saturated and needs changing. If you change your filter by the odometer as the factory suggests, there is a small chance that your injectors were being damaged, and a large chance that you are disposing of a good filter. FuPro takes the guess work out, and lets you use all the filter life. Reports of 30,000 mi. between changes are common, and I know of one dodge pick-up with over 41,000 that has less than 5% filter saturation. The results of the first 4 years with FuPro installed show a significant reduction in fuel filter disposal.
