Water and solid contaminants are the leading cause of damaged injector pumps and clogged diesel fuel injectors. How does this contamination get into your fuel injection system? When your filter gets saturated. The injector pump will start pushing or pulling the contaminants through the media of a clogging filter. Injector damage begins, often the filter will tear and dump all the trash into your injectors clogging the injectors in just minuets, and cost you thousands of dollars.

How can you tell when your fuel filter needs changing?

All owners manuals have filter change intervals listed either in miles or hours of operation. This is fine if you are running clean fuel. If you get a bad tank of fuel  you can have clogged injectors before you know it. Until now, picking your filter change time is guessing, or playing Russian Roulette With your very expensive diesel engine. Changing filters by odometer reading is clearly not working.          

   The FUPRO fuel filter system has a Racor 2 micron filter. It is also a water separator with a clear bowl so you can see if there is water present. The dash-mounted gauge is the key to the FUPRO system. [No one else offers one] The gauge will tell you when you are due for a fuel filter change by monitoring the change in either pressure or vacuum in your fuel system. No more guesswork. We, also supply a water probe which fits into the high impact clear colection bowl and is attached to a warning  lamp in the dash area so you can tell if there is water in the fuel filter from the drivers seat. Our system detects water at half the level that factory systems do. Water in injectors causes broken and cracked tips. Most factory water indicators are at the engine.  Ours is frame mounted and the sensor is in the filter base which gives you a far greater safety margin.
